Spare A Thought On The Earth Day
Earth, my Muse,
Earth my Mother
You are the blue globe
In this Universe
Holding life in your lap.
You are bubbling with life.
Cycle after cycle
You make life generate and regenerate
From your soil, they get nutrients
From your air, they breathe
By your water, they quench thirst.
What a treasure you are!
We have no existence without you
But how careless we are
When we cut down trees
When we drain polluted water into river
When we engage in war and
fill toxin gas into atmosphere
Now with advent of computers and mobiles
We are setting up mobile towers and internet connections
And fill the air with toxic radiations
We are creating e-garbage beyond measure
Our reckless use of plastics
Have now polluted land and sea
Use of insecticides, pesticides and disinfectants
Doing harm to earth and water
Many plant and animal species are going extinct.
Can we undo the damage done to you
O' Dear Earth?
We need such reminders and alerts from time to time. One day people and the law makers will definitely pay attention towards Earth, hopefully. Nice poem, Bharati Ji.
'We have no existence without you But how careless we are When we cut down trees When we drain polluted water into river When we engage in war and fill toxin gas into atmosphere'....rightly said Bharati...congratulations for this inspiring poem...many ***************
But how careless we are When we cut down trees When we drain polluted water into river When we engage in war and so on so forth! Yes, this wonderful earth needs our care! A great poem dear poetess!
A valuable reminder. Mother Earth needs special care today
This is one of the very best tributes to Mother Earth that I've had the pleasure of reading. Like with David Wood's tribute, it would make for a great Poem Of The Day! Par excellence, mon amie!
A timely reminder! The earth needs our care and good planning. Your thought provoking piece does its job well. Bravo!
