Tea In The Sahara (Aft. The Police) Poem by LeeAnn Azzopardi

Tea In The Sahara (Aft. The Police)

Rating: 4.9

The rose inflamed with fragnance
Has made me cry
For my memories are working
In overtime with every sniff
How you used to send me a rose
Each year on my birthday
Saying you were thinking of me
I kept them all in my copy of poems
That wrote for you
But it's been years since you did that
And I don't remember when you stopped
I guess you found yr true love
Leaving me broken and desolate
Waiting in the desert with cups of sand
To serve you

LeeAnn, I think that Sting would really appreciate your wonderful poem and kind gesture. I saw him together with Annie Lennox. What a great concert!

Beautifully, emotionally charged, poignant.. love lost leaves such a vacuum in the heart…

Beautifully and so sadly inspired. A love betrayed is the most painful, even once expired. An forgettable, excellent piece!

This is wonderful, LeeAnn! I really enjoyed the imagery, such as 'The rose inflamed with fragrance has made me cry, ' and 'Waiting in the desert with cups of sand to serve you.' 5 stars.
