Of late, I have quit
Telling stories to
My niece's daughter Tit;
At the age around eight,
She seems to be a super brain-
Her thoughts rapid swift
It all started (or ended up?)
With me telling her one day
The story of the elephant
And blind men, a few,
Who discussed
How they felt
The animal they knew
Soon after my narration
She asked me, Uncle!
Tell me how the persons
With given eyesight
Would explain an elephant
They have never seen

Wow Mr Kesav... The famous story of blind men and an elephant... The question little girl asked is very profound and beyond our five senses... The imagination one creates without using five senses expalins the vision of a true poet and you have got that one Sir... Great work of art...
Nice poem. Good theme and message, conveyed in a good style. Children are innocent and sharp. Childlike intelligence has purity which is so touchy! ! ! Vanita
nice story, and nice rhyme.Guess, i want more of this. This is cute!
'The girl bites the humourist'..... kid's question reminds me the story.. the first stanza did in wonderful rhyme.. the rest much thought provoking... kids in turn ourturn with powerful punches, though innocently, philosophical. the man with full sense (claim) and built fit would visualize things in wrong perspectives......... like explain god (not exist) in multitudes........ thanks for sharing a nice poem. rgrds/salu
A delightful little light-hearted poem Kesav....you have a talent for writing these as well...Like everyone else I too would like to know how you answered your clever little niece...10++++
