The Journey Poem by Valsa George

The Journey

Rating: 5.0

With the suddenness of a locomotive
that has come to an abrupt halt,
he fell motionless and in a coffin lay.

like -

All mystery sealed in a jar,
All agony compressed
in a tremulous whimper,
All charms shut in an amulet

amid,

the scent of burning incense,
frozen silence,
heaving hearts
and
silent prayers,

While the chariot wheeled him along
the mazy paths,
stretching, stretching endless
to a world,
beyond all galaxies,
to the Elysian Fields-
to a time immeasurable
To abiding infinity
To inconceivable eternity! !

So many have taken this unique journey. Some pre-pondered it, while others were caught off guard. But it remains a journey for all living. The most important trip of one’s life. Happy journeying.

Ah mind! thou art sane but insane too. The'last journey' so meticulously envisaged by you has a touch of luxury and this piece of work would be worth a million praises if the destination of infinity and the eternity were indeed a reality. How great it would be if all the dead ones were to journey like this on the celestial chariot of a lifetime dream! Wonderful images ransacking the basements of reason and rationality. A fine world of everlasting illusion too!

We shall all eventually learn what awaits on the other side. If I get there before you do which is very likely, I will try to do what Houdini could not.. Yes, eternity is inconceivable. A thought invoking write
