The One You Love. Poem by Sandra Feldman

The One You Love.

Rating: 5.0

No hurt is greater
Than to have to leave
The One you Love,
No pain is deeper!
A living death sets in
And sadness kills,
All hope of happiness
To come, within.

Life no longer
Has the splendor
It once had,
When your one and only
Truest love has gone away,
And you only see and feel
The wilted Roses of the Past
Those that were so happy
And alive, with that love
That was your life
And now, so far away.

The opening lines alone made me cry. Every line makes a reader feel the greatness of love and its power to create a void in one's life the moment it is lost An extraordinary poem of love that hits the core of our being. So deeply, deeply poignant and touching but beautiful..

Straight from the heart, that raw feeling of loss is hard for anyone to take. Memories will never fade nor the love only time can repair a broken heart.
