The Poet Of The Piano Poem by Ahmad Shiddiqi

The Poet Of The Piano

Rating: 4.2

O varied visions of dedication!
O the pulse-beat of patriotic!
O blend of improvisation!
O dreamy sound of life!

all the romantic nuances vibrate
all the beloved souls sing
of the enchanted waltz
of the magical prelude

the loveliest zephyr that flow
with the yearning nocturne
with the spirited mazurka
with the call of the etude

the immortal concerto
smoothly revived the true eloquence
the passionate impromptu
strongly kissed the gracious sweetness

who shall recite the golden song
of Poland's amazing son?
who shall echo the harmonic beauty
of Zelazowa Wola's proudest poet?

who refine a singing melody
rondo and sonata encourage a hope
who a revolutionary move of the divine fingers
ballade, scherzo and polonaise release a sensation

for spellbinding the lover's heart
the left hand become an orchestra conductor
for resides within the marked dynamics of rubato
the right hand restricted to a single bar or a theme figure

(dedicated to The 2010 Chopin Celebration)

Hi Ahmad, I really enjoyed this poem, although there were a couple words I didn't understand, not being a music expert... What's a mazurka and a polonaise? Anyways, I'm sure that if Chopin were around today to read this, he'd be really pleased, proud, and honored. : -)
