With my feet dragging
Walking down the street of memories
Each moment spent with my friends
Scrolled before my eyes
The time spent together
The time we all laughed at those silly jokes
The time we cried in each others pain
Those sweet n sour emotions
Which we together cherished
That strong soul connection
The connectivity between our hearts
The understanding which we had
Now I search the streets of pain
For those lost soul-mates
As I try and find
The footprints of my friends
A sudden realisation dawned
After all it was a virtual world
That has to fade in the test of time
Relationships held at the tips of the finger
Easy to make and easy to break
With a click of a button.

Let me quote from this beautiful poem: -'Now I search the streets of pain For those lost soul-mates As I try and find The footprints of my friends A sudden realisation dawned After all it was a virtual world
So beautiful poem! The emotions of pain and pleasure shared with close friends so nicely described. The social media platform gives us easy access for connecting with faraway people and bonding with them. But the pain of losing them is as real as losing our friends of personal contacts.
Now I search the streets of pain For those lost soul-mates As I try and find The footprints of my friends.....great quest!
This poem has gone into MyPoemList. I just forgot to mention the graphic appearing with the poem. No doubt that this looks paradoxical at first sight but the two parts can very well be related to the two sections of the poem though not exactly in the same manner. A serious student of poetry can learn a lot from this creative page.

Very true, we are witness to these changes which our next generation might not know and the same applies to a generation before us.....Gone are those days when it was easy to find a shoulder to rest and cry, share the joy and go for picnic and outing and spend quality time pulling each other's leg.....Now everything is through social media only, emotions are shared online (Smiles) ............Life moved beyond meeting of eyes, hands and gentle touch and you rightly pointed with a click of button
We have become clinical, obsessed with this virtual world. We are the victims of this social media, Our generation paid the price of this change. The zest to learn and discover new horizons was at it's peak. We were more of a emotional kind of souls. The present generation are quite realistic. I remember my daughter saying social media is just to maintain contacts and to be in touch with the peer group. I see them more balanced and focused. There was a time when we lost touch with the reality. Better late then never. One do get tired with monotonous life. Life is even more beautiful outside this idiot box.
