Waltz With Me Poem by Mihaela Pirjol

Waltz With Me

Rating: 4.5

Waltz with me!
Floating in the air...
My waist, tight to thee:
On the dance floor—pair.

Gently up to thy lips,
In a movement slow;
Lips in an ardent kiss:
In a dream we glow...

Whisper words of heart
As I melt in thee,
Never to do part:
Strauss, us and glee!

Like the waters of a river, so fluent its rythm, its armony.

Hello poet friend Mihaela. I enjoyed this beautiful poem about one of the most loved and passion filled dance forms. Well done, I felt myself there. Loud

I love that closing line STRAUSS, US AND GLEE! What a perfect cap to this passionate dance. I'm reminded of the Lehar operetta THE MERRY WIDOW when the man woos the woman during a waltz, he sings, Surrender to the waltz, let it enfold you in its sweet undulations, etc. And guess what - She does! Oh, you expected as much. Well, your poem has the same persuasive power.
