Yes, I'm jealous
You had boyfriends and heartbreak
And are better at cooking and cleaning
You have a career
What do I have?
An old dog and fantasies
And I know you were our parents' favorite
At least, you were the normal one
We were dreamers
You were practical and wise
I wish I was you
But I couldn't be
Even though, I tried
Brutally honest poetry...that's what you have, LeeAnn! And that's a whole lot better than the cooking and cleaning! BTW, writing is considered as a career.
A heartfelt, straightforward and wonderful poem depicting sisterly love and individual differences. Many of us could resonate from this well expressed poem. Top Marks!
Sibling rivalry is very common and such comparison happens but you are what you are and I like your thouhgts and poetic sense. Liked it. Genuine feelings.5 Stars
But I couldn't be..... significant.... thank u.... LeeAnn....
It is not jealousy. You admire your sister Joann for what she is.May be she is admiring you for what you are.We all are unique in our own right.Lee Ann as a poet is admired by so many readers like me.
Wow so honest confession. Awesome poem LeeAnn Loved it the way you wrote it 5***
AND, truth or fiction, this poem impressed me very much. OF COURSE I, bri, was 'my parents' favorite'; they couldn't help themselves. And I am my favorite poet, though I do acknowledge that Poe, Shakespeare, and Angelou weren't too bad. bri : ) 5 ***** stars
I wonder: 'Is this poem a true picture of you and your siblings? ' And I wonder: 'Has Joann read your poem? ' AND....'If she read it, how did she respond? '

Just be yourself, LeeAnn. You have talents and qualities that your sister does not have. Never put yourself down. You are a special child of God.
