Would You? Could You? Poem by Mary Nagy

Would You? Could You?

Would you know me if you saw me?
Could you recognize my soul?
Would my voice trigger emotions?
Could you sense that was my goal?

If I walked up to your door
would you even know it's me?
How deeply do you know someone
.........just from their poetry?

Would you stare and look right through me?
Could you feel my pain inside?
Would you still enjoy my poetry?
Even if I couldn't hide?

I will not assume to know you from your poems...but angels come in all shades...and you have sent many colors...(hues) with smiling faces...I love the way you say...'from my poems can you tell it's me'...will not just yet...but you are working on it...smile...you go girl...platonic is a good start for friendship...ciao

Well, Sam-I-Am, I don't know the answer to the question, but I hope the answer would be 'Yes, I do like you'. I certainly admire the poem, and the sentiment.

Would not know you if I saw you - until you strung two sentences together - then I would no for certain

I often wonder are we our poetry? Mary, in your case, I'm certain you're a beautiful sweetheart just like the way you write!

This is a wonderful question, Mary, and of course the answer is 'no.' But I'[m sure we would find a way to start sharing immediately (most poets are like that) and I'm positive your warm spirit would speak to my heart. Raynette
