You Disappeared
An amazing woman, there is no doubt;
More accolades than many men have earned.
Even though there were things you did without,
Lots were the deeds you did and things you learned.
I never met you but I wished I could;
All memories and tales of you are good.
Each time I gaze up in the azure skies
And see a a silver vessel gliding by,
Right then I try to stifle all my sighs,
Hold in my tears and struggle not to cry.
All I can do is wonder, why, o why?
Reason tells me that we shall never meet,
Though if we did, for me, oh what a treat!
Though Kim has not divulged the identity of the person pictured here, my memory cells were kindled instantly. Took about them long minutes before I could decipher that it is Amelia Earhart.
My memory cells were hibernating! It would have taken me forever to figure out who she is. THX for saving my cells! Sincerely!
She flies through the memories of our souls… there are a few, who stick with us, and always shall. Very good poem.

A lovely poem about a woman I also admire. I guessed it was Amelia before I saw that the poem is an acrostic. Cleverly written!
ahha, an ACROSTIC, I now see 'tis. I didn't notice; I really did think of her due to her photo and maybe some of the poem (probably) . Well done, but it's a pity if others don't figure out who you speak of.
