After The Rain Poem by Practicing Poetess

After The Rain

Rating: 5.0

Pretty little bird, trilling his song
After the deluge of rain has gone.
Eerily quiet; everything's wet
Pace of life hasn't resumed, as yet.
Grey and dreary, no sun to be seen
Bushes, trees look bright emerald green.

Muddy puddles are everywhere,
Soggy earth doesn't seem to care.
Ground is like a sponge underfoot,
Trees are soaked, right down to the root.
Suddenly, a rainbow appears
All creation breaks into cheers.

A lovely poem. Very refreshing to read after a great downpour especially when you witnessed the appearance of a beautiful rainbow. Beautifully written.
