Rosebuds To Remember
Yellow rose buds she requested for her senior prom
Talked about how they would match a satin dress
Did not know where the roses would come from
And, as a young girl of ten, it was anyone's guess.
Red rose buds she requested be in her bridal bouquet
To be carried next to her heart brimming with love
In her wedding pictures always a reminder of the day
She took her vows before her father up above.
Pink rose buds she requested be in the maternity ward
Where she delivered the first of her four daughters
Pink roses would surely strike the perfect chord
For a waiting room full of anxiously awaiting fathers.
White rose buds she requested be placed on her casket
A bouquet with Baby's Breath and Asparagus Fern
Then carried to a nursing home in a wicker basket
Expressing to final friendships her lasting concern.
Yellow, red, pink, white rose buds—her life story told
In the most important times of her incredible life
Their soft fragrances to her were like finest gold
I know because, yes, she was my exceptional wife.

Cougar Tale
I crouch beneath a lofty pine,
the meadow in my view.
That cougar pelt will soon be mine;
It's what I have to do.
He killed a calf of ours last week;
I followed him this far,
and we've been playing hide-and-seek;
it's been kind of bizarre.
At last I see him ---- what a shock!
It seems that he's a she!
Behind her follow little cubs;
I see there's two ---- no, three!
I can't make orphans of those cubs;
I'll leave them free to roam.
I grab my rifle and my pack
and start my way back home.

If I Were The Only One
If I were the only poet
left in the world today,
and the writings of all others
were to be swept away,
people would read my stuff and say:
'There are no poets left
in the world today.'

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Inspired by the poem 'If I Were the Only Poet Left in the World Today' by L. Milton Hankins. Thank you, Reverend Hankins!
=======================================
dear readers, It's only a coincidence that the 3rd (of 3) poem in my abbreviated showcase was 'inspired' by a poem with similar title and, I suppose, theme written the the author of the 1st poem appearing in this showcase.
If this works, the showcase, this month, I plan to continue my publishing of 'usually monthly' poem showcases. This year, due to difficulties (horrendous ones for me and some others) , I have missed months of showcases.

Bri, I am honored that one-third of the poems in this month's showcase belong to me! Thank you so much and I have voted this showcase a five!
First one is beautiful poem. Second one lovely human nature. Third one a saddestic one. Good showcase and the first became inspiration of last.
Hi Bri, So good to see your post after so long! With an array of poems! Thanks for sharing. Welcome back...... : )
Saw my Ahimsa poem on Greed. But i am not able to see a picture...neither half or any.
Thrilled to see some humour back in PH with Bri's 'ducky' and 'wacky' poems.. : ) : )
Short and sweet showcase, Bri. All three of these poets do excellent work!
Congratulations, Bri, for your showcase. Short but packed with beautiful works. Hope to see another one.
This poem has not been translated into any other language yet.
I would like to translate this poem
