Choices Poem by Bonnie Collins

Choices

Rating: 5.0

I would rather live with your memory
than to have you with your fruitless
rose petels devour me

We shared a short lifetime of Happy Memories
Please lets keep it our Secret

No one will ever know, except
2 Hearts who learned a Little Too Late........

Susceptible tender piece, the recollection of the petite past, urges to hold back banishing any regret but evicting any addition to unpleasant ones, the compressed style makes it thought provoking…poetic and emotional…..liked reading it.

The memories of first love never fade as Wordsworth says for Daffodills, 'they flash upon that inward eye which is the bliss of solitude.' And say as Keats says about the lovers on the Grecian Urn: Heard melodies are sweet, but those unheard Are sweeter; therefore, ye soft pipes, play on; Not to the sensual ear, but, more endear'd, Pipe to the spirit ditties of no tone: Fair youth, beneath the trees, thou canst not leave Thy song, nor ever can those trees be bare; Bold Lover, never, never canst thou kiss, Though winning near the goal—yet, do not grieve; She cannot fade, though thou hast not thy bliss, For ever wilt thou love, and she be fair! It is like wandering again and again in the memory lane to perpetuate the bliss.

I can so feel this poem.. It is amazing the choices we have and the ones we make in haste, the ones we make out of loyalty in love. Very wonderful poem.
