Come One Dark And Rainy Night Poem by Susan Williams

Come One Dark And Rainy Night

Rating: 5.0

.
Come one dark and rainy night
he watched them come and go
both outside the windshield
and inside his dark and rainy soul.
The rain drumming on the metal roof
drumming all about him as he watched
watched patiently from his high perch
watched from his warm and dry cab
in his big rig lurking quiet and still
in the shadows
its lights out
but its engine steaming
and rumbling in the cold night air
its grills gleaming like hungry teeth
waiting for the unwary
waiting for you or me
to exit the truck stop
and head off down the highway
the long and lonely highway
in the middle of a dark rainy night
both outside his windshield
and inside his dark and rainy soul.

Anjandev--it looks like I failed to respond to your comment or that PH has failed to print it.
