No great Empire
Escapes
The putrefaction
Of Decadence
That disintegrates
Country and States
As the People
Are disrobed
Of their rights
And morals
Crumble
As law and order
Take flight.
The Ravens sing
Their funereal song,
Greek chorus of Night,
Liberty,
Well-being, exit
From sight,
And all good things
Come to an end!
With No One
And Nothing
To put Them
Together,
Again!

Politics is a filthy business. The sorry state of the world is a result of the misadventures of the powerful. I also see a bleak future sadly. Well penned!
