Devi Mahishasura Mardini 3 Poem by Geeta Radhakrishna Menon

Devi Mahishasura Mardini 3

Rating: 5.0

Beautiful face and eyes like the lotus petals,
With a forehead so broad like the lotus leaf,
So bright and pure like the crescent moon,
Moving gracefully like a swan,
The undulating gait of a danseuse,
Sporting damsels adorned with fragrant flowers!
Victory and glory unto You! O Mahishasura-mardini!
The powerful annihilator of the evil Asura
With lustrous tresses cascading down;
You are the beautiful daughter of the mountain!

O Devi, the epitome of empathy, generosity
And auspiciousness!
O Kamala! Worshipping your lotus feet
Is like reaching Brahma's sanctum!
What else do I need or aspire for?
Except to seek refuge and be sheltered at your lotus feet!
Victory and glory unto You! O Mahishasura-mardini!
The powerful annihilator of the evil Asura
With lustrous tresses cascading down;
You are the beautiful daughter of the mountain!

O Devi! Bless me and guide me,
With your mercy and compassion,
You are the radiant Mother of this universe.
You shower your compassion on all beings of this universe,
Please remove the miseries and sorrows from my heart!
Victory and glory unto You! O Mahishasura-mardini!
The powerful annihilator of the evil Asura
With lustrous tresses cascading down;
You are the beautiful daughter of the mountain!
