EASTER,2018 ….[ Bri's Unusual View of Easter, Thought Of While Doing Dishes On Easter Sunday; Personal & Serious ]
Alternate title:Jelly Beans Or Jesus?
Must one choose Jesus, and his/His death, OVER jelly beans?
Or may both be ‘honored', OR neither? It's your choice, it seems …
to me, to make.My parents chose both for me in my distant youth.
Now I choose neither for myself, though I lean toward candy, if the truth …
is told, ………by Bri.
The decision "Pontious Pilate" [governor of Judaea] made to have Jesus crucified,
MAYBE saved for many a place in Heaven, BUT also Jews, for centuries, vilified!
I guess Easter ‘honors' not death, but the 'Resurrection' of God's purported Son.
Now, for many ‘believers', it's become a day for church and THEN Easter fun.
It's like Christmas aka X-mas [ "X", in Greek Χριστός, refers to "Christ" ].
A day celebrated as a "Holy Day" has shifted more towards a "holiday".
(April …1st [known by some as "April Fool's Day" ***] …2018)
*** (from Google) :"April Fools' Day (sometimes called All Fools' Day)is an annual celebration in some European and Western countries commemorated on April 1 by playing practical jokes and spreading hoaxes. The jokes and their victims are called April fools."
BUT..............Bri ain't/isn't foolin' ….around! ! !
From holy day to holiday. There's wisdom here, Bri. In a few words, you account for some fairly profound social and cultural shifts.....Well done!
Now that was super interesting to read. The twist of a word and sentence and a poem to reflect upon...what more could one want. Enjoying your poems Bri.10+
Wisdom from the Golden State... just what one might expect from St. Bri.

I would like to translate this poem
Bri, I'm a believer. And I had a lot of fun with this one. You have a way with words. And you keep coming up with unique and very creative poems. Both of your titles are great. Personally, I prefer the alternate one. Looking forward to reading more of your fun stuff.
