Endless Thoughts Poem by Patricia Gale

Endless Thoughts

Rating: 5.0

Sleep comes not unto my door
As my mind reels or’ and or’
Trying to capture the words I wish to write
Explain the feeling that circles my soul

Lost upon thoughts of you
Drifting on billowing visions
Star struck on a cloudy night
Enchanted by the sound of your voice

Feeling as though I have known you before
In another place… another time
Gazing into the night suspended by thoughts or perhaps dreams
Closing my eyes but still the mind is wide open

Spinning and twirling the words fall short from verse
Your powers to read me overcome my will
And my book lies open
Page by page you grasp each secret

Unlocking hidden dreams
Scanning and consuming me till the last paragraph
Revealing the inner me that was lost for many a year
Closing the mystery upon your findings

But leaving me in a world of endless thoughts of you
As sleep comes not unto my door
As my mind reels or’ and or’
Trying to capture the words I wish to write
Explain the feeling that circles my soul

Strong descriptive writing on a perplexing state of mind - trying to achieve balance in relationships of whatever kind. Insights and uncovering of states of mind is never easy, even for the one who seems to be reading you like an open book. The right words are always the hardest. But they do yield in the end, as they did in this fine poem Patricia. xx jim

Some rather poetic lines of choice, very nicly placed, an open book? mediforical? great write Patricia....

Oh, P, yes, the night-time navel-gazing (as I think of it) ... beautifully penned. And as Theo suggests, who could possibly not relate? Stunning. t x

'eXPLAIN THE FEELINGS THAT CIRCLE MY SOUL'... this what initiates poets to extract the beauty of poetry. Most including me can relate to it. Another 10.
