It was a battle between two champions
The cobra with 'spectacled' hood spread wide
And the Mongoose with bushy tail up
Hissing and shrieking, spitting fire and fume
Who would win this murderous combat, yet to see!
If I see this as two powerful forces of the world fighting against each other, say like USA and Russia did throughout the era of the cold wars - it would just result into normal humans suffering... Thank you for sharing Valsa ma'am...
OMG..i love it. The fight between two champions is definitely going to be a nail-biting contest. The reader is excited n on the edge n looking forward to the result. The poem certainly creates an atmosphere of thrill n curiosity.
Hissing and shrieking, spitting fire and fume Who would win this murderous combat, yet to see! ....yes yet to see. A well executed meaningful poem.
Fantastic, Valsa. I also see this as a metaphor for an age old internal struggle....too bad one side or quality always seems to win. I believe that's also the case with the literal struggle you deal with in this amazing verse.
this brings to mind a couple of my ex-wives. we all won; we all got rid of each other! ! ! i wonder if you've ever seen such a face-off. to MyPoemList....though it could use a good dose of, and some humour as well. bri ;) oh! i just saw my 'old' comment and your 'old' response to it. nice response.
YIKES! ! ! ! GLAD I WASN'T BETWEEN THEM. bri ;) East Vs. West It was a battle between two Humour Champions: Valsa George with dupatta scarf spread wide, and Bri Edwards, all his grey hairs bristling tall, both hissing and shrieking, spitting fire and fume Who would win this murderous combat, yet to see! Place your bets! bri :)
To Bri....! Glad you have given me that crown But with its weight, my poor head is down I will never dare to be in a combat with Bri I have no guts.... so no bets, you humorous guy!
