Near the reeking garbage pile
Two black cats meet n' mate in the black of the night
Nothing seen, but two pairs of glistening eyes
A loud shriek and a whining cry
As if they are in intense pain!
wow another of your masterpiece! and the pic is brilliant! it speaks more than a thousand words! a good one Mam
Another close observation neatly packed in the five liner.
What a lovely piece of writing. I love your Five-liners. They contain so much. Mating of two black cats is described with great finesse.
meet n' mate! sounds like a good name for a dating service. pain? maybe it was not a good fit! i don't mean emotionally. i'd better move on before i say TOO MUCH! ! ! bri :)
Fantastic verse, Valsa. pain and pleasure intertwined...in the dark of night. Can there really be life (living perhaps, but not life) without one of these extreme feelings? Again, great verse. A 10!
A poem of.great depth with utmost simplicity. A highly imaginative write with superb imagery.
Often at midnight I am awaken of such sounds as I don't close my ears but I keep my eyes closed and expect the same from the cats. A nice observation and beautiful conversion in a poem.
A beautiful poem on two black cats with amusing depiction. The most interesting line is..... Two black cats meet n' mate in the black of the night. Enjoyed with photo provided. Thanks a lot.

WOW! I didn't expect this power compressed into five lines. This is a sharp, incisive slice of reality wit no cute stuff to distract us from the sheer power of habit and instinct.
