जो हमारी आत्मा में बसती है
और गाती है निःशब्द गीत
और कभी रूकती नहीं पल भर भी
गीत मधुरतम प्रचंड हवाओं में सुनियेगा
और तब भी जब तूफ़ान भयंकर सम्मुख हो
उस नन्हीं सी चिड़िया को न कर पाया पस्त
जिसने सब में प्यार व गर्मजोशी बांटी हो
मैंने देखा-सुना हुआ है प्रचंड ठंड के स्थानों में
और धुर अपरिचित समुद्र में भी-
या घोर विपत्ति के आ जाने पर भी,
इसने मेरे लिए कभी भी द्वार न अपने बंद किये
