I lost my heart a time ago,
it silently took flight -
I looked within the daylight hours,
and in the dark of night.
I searched amidst the golden leaves
of autumn, cast around,
then glanced upon the glist'ning stars
which there above abound.
And here amongst the tangled vines,
along the wooded ways,
I yearned to hear its gentle throb
through many endless days.
I sought it in the crystal snow,
and deep in feathered wings.
Amongst sweet-scented lavender,
and all soft tender things.
In silver streams and leafy glens,
bathed in the twilight's glow,
to find my heart and feel it beat
as once a time ago…..
To find my heart and feel it beat
as once a time ago.
In silver streams and leafy glens, bathed in the twilight's glow, to find my heart and feel it beat as once a time ago….. A beautifully done poem.I enjoyed it.Well done Col Muhammad Khalid Khan
A beautifully vivid trip through love. Wonderful images, which flow and rhyme very nicely.
To have had love and to have truly been in love is an incredible gift and the memories will forever flow. You have expressed heartache with delicate footsteps that must take path again. Thinking of you for an inspiring New Year x
A beautiful poem with full of emotion and and a quest in finding self, finding the fond love. Very nice.
an emotional poem Val....i would say, in every beat of ur heart lies his presence......every line reflects your deep love within.........a beautiful poem indeed!
In silence I lost my heart once again represents deep grief but joy is not so far in reading such a beautiful poem shared.
A very tender and poignant poem Valerie. Through your imagery you have explained the fruitless search for a loved one who is no longer here, yearning to feel their love once again. This undying pain of loss does ruin our rhythm of life, and yet, we have to move forward still searching for that love, maybe one day finding it in another. A very simple and intense poem portraying our frail human lives. Thank you for sharing such a difficult subject in such a beautiful poetical masterpiece. RoseAnn
