अज्ञात कवि की अंग्रेजी रचना

दोस्ती की चाबी उस हाथ में नहीं जिसको तुमने थामा है
बल्कि इस बात में है कि उस हाथ को कैसे थामा है.
उन आँसूओं में भी नहीं जो बिन ढलके ही ख़ुश्क हो गए
बल्कि उन वजूहात में है कि ऐसा कैसे और क्यों हो गया.
इसमें नहीं कि आप किसी को कैसे खुश रख पाते हैं
बल्कि इसमें है कि ऐसा करने का कितना लाभ हुआ.
यह बातचीत में नहीं अवस्थित
बल्कि इसमें है कि तुम उसको कैसे सुनते हो.
यह हँसने में भी नहीं मिलेगी
बल्कि उससे पहले या बाद में क्या होता है मिलेगी उसमें
दोस्ती की चाबी
दो व्यक्तियों के निकट आने में नहीं
बल्कि दो हृदयों के संप्रेषण में पा सकते हो.
धन्यवाद तुमको है क्योंकि तुम ही मेरे परम मित्र हो
जिसे दोस्ती की चाबी की समझ बखूबी रहती है
और कैसे मेरे दिल के अंदर की सब चीजो का पता लगाना है.
