My throat is dry; I need a drink,
but what should that drink be?
Whiskey won't do, nor wine as well;
they don't agree with me.
I could have milk or lemonade,
as both have a great taste.
There's Mountain Dew, and Pepsi, too,
but each soft drink's a waste.
That carbonation's bad for you,
according to my daughter,
and she's a nurse, so I agree,
and I'll just have cold water.
Kim, I especially have, so far, enjoyed 'Dew/too'. The title is, of course, 'to die for'. YOU have 'forced me', once again, by not allowing me to vote with stars, ....to make this a 'favorite', which I MIGHT HAVE DONE, on another day 'down the road'. bri : )
A wonderful and interesting poem with a captivating title. Yes, water is good. Well crafted with great rhyme. Top Marks!
Ah, And excellent choice and so refreshing too! .. A marvelous poem! .. And wise too! ..
Brilliant, Kim! I go through a routine almost every morning about what to drink. Then I almost always go back to ice water.
sigh--why are all the drinks and foods we like so bad for us? or are THEY lying to us again and it is all a campaign to make us miserably healthy

Good choice, but…there is an old saying: worm in water—lives; worm in whiskey—dies; so, drink whisky if you get worms! I'm just trying to help out here.
