Man - delusive
Woman, elusive
He feigns what he is not.
She fails to see what she is.
While he holds some charisma,
She remains an enigma.
He is steered by the head.
She, powered by the heart
He stamps
And
She struts,
When over ridden by pride
He oft gallops on the mare
And she wades through the mire.
He stings if angered.
She stoops if cajoled.
He is a sickle,
When she is so fickle
But Man and Woman together build life.
And so the saying, ' Behind every man`s success there is a woman' has been driven home through these lines. Some one was telling a joke on these lofty and fair equations, ' Behind every woman`s success, there is a man and still behind him is there one more man -her husband! . I am pondering over why he is galloping on a mare?
Men and women are complete contrasts but that is the key of attraction.
And it's not just a juxtaposition of gender differences but of combining the not-so-distant features of both that upon coming together builds this world.......Valsa......very nicely composed.....great write as always......
Divergent and complimentary, I agree with poet Chinedu Dike, and that is why they, not alike, attract each other. And to the credit of the poet I see that she has avoided favouring the woman... if however it looks otherwise, it is unintentional! ! ! But the poem is well writ, no doubt about it.
Your insight into the divergent and yet complementary natures of man and woman is very impressive. A brilliant work of art. Thanks for sharing madam and do remain enriched.
Dear madam, you have nicely distinguished between man and women. Though they have some differeent qualities yet they both generate beautiful families. Your way of presentation is much chanting. I like the beginning....... Man - delusive Woman, elusive He feigns what he is not. She fails to see what she is. While he holds some charisma, She remains an enigma. Thanks a lot.10
