Moon In The Window Poem by Sameer Ahmed

Moon In The Window

Rating: 4.6

Stars faded
And hegemony celebrated
By white light
On darkened land
As a milky globule
With greyish spots
Imprinted its clone
On window glass.

Hypnotic scene
Cooled the ambience
And beamed diversely
To light up
My inner vibe
Tides of calmness rose
As I heeded.

Your poem creates a certain dreamy and elusive atmosphere that is associated for me with art works by impressionists. It has a quality to seduce a reader with colour and escape at the same time somewhere into darkness(or whiteness depending on a state of mind of a reader) .If to recite it, it also brings an interesting sonic experience reminding of 'sound waves' in 'Claire de Lune' by Claude Debussy. Thanks for sharing, Sameer :) A.

'white light on darkened land' indeed the moon is a vision of comfort on a lonely dark night... and thanks to the heavens we are never really left in total darkness....

beautiful through out..but beauty initself looses its charm so the last line delivers the impact....and it becomes majestic...
