My Buddy Lem Poem by Cowboy Ron Williams

My Buddy Lem

Rating: 5.0

My buddy Lem and I
were at the Dallas Cowboys
football game.

Lem is almost my same age
and we manage to get together
every once in a while.

For this game, we had terrific seats
very close to the Cowboys' bench.

The first time that the famous
cheerleaders came out
and performed right in front of us,
I heard Lem give an audible sigh.

Then he said 'I wish I was
twenty years older! '

'Don't you mean twenty years
younger? ' I asked.

'No, ' he replied. 'I wish I was
twenty years older, because then
I wouldn't give a durn! '

Agreed! Great one pard.20 years either way would probably be a benefit in some areas. Then again, is there ever a 'perfect' age? You've got me pondering... I really enjoyed this poem.
