Set Back From The Multitudes Poem by james watkin

Set Back From The Multitudes

Set back from the multitudes
Of my quietsome life you'd hear
Less the sheep's nibbling of dale
Than the goat's iced cleaving fear!

Not lost in clouds, yet of my
Withdrawn posturing you'd see
What of it, vague, glances off
Each wind-cutting ledge, shyly.

As free-ranging a picture
Mountain herding could provide.
In reach of the untamed welsh;
Engaged from the english side.
