She'd Had Enough (A Limerick) Poem by Practicing Poetess

She'd Had Enough (A Limerick)

Rating: 5.0

There was a young woman named Fran
Who'd married a violent man
After work, every night
He'd pound her to a fright
'Til she hit him with a frying pan!

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Unfortunately, this is a true story, told to me by my friend Cindy. (Except that I made up the name Fran.)Isn't it a pity that this poor woman endured abuse for so long, when all she had to do was defend herself and set a boundary. As soon as she clobbered him with the frying pan, he left, never to return. Once he lost his 'punching bag', the game was over for him.

So glad the woman decided to take the action. The limericks are a very fun way of recounting ugly happenings. written so well.

Thanks, Mohammed. Apparently Fran's hubby was a bully who didn't play fair. He could dish it out, but he couldn't take it.
