I just saw a documentary on Marilyn Monroe
. Someone had posted a comment-
‘The saddest people have the sweetest smile'
There's so much substance in his observations;
Yes, it could be true for Marilyn & Meena Kumari-
The original tragedy queen of Hindi cinema
Look at the way how P B Shelley's lyrical poem
‘To A Skylark' expressed it ‘Our sweetest songs
are those that tell of saddest thought'. So True.
A pragmatic write with precise citations! An excellent write sir....10/10
Agree fully the smiles hides volumes of mystery and agony. What we see is what they show us otherwise they all are lonely souls Very well written note.10++ for showcasing the reality.
Thats very true. Some of the best poems are written when a person is possessed with emotion

Saddest people have sweetest smile because they know what it means to live in happiness free from sadness. So they cherish even small moments of pleasure.

Very true, behind their smile very few have seen the pain and agony even tragedy they had gone throughout their respective life. You may add Sushant Singh Rajput to this list now, he too had a vibrant smile, now when the media is unfolding his truths we hardly knew about his sufferings or pains. Thoughtful poem...
