I can't leave
For good
Some things
I hate
How to escape
But this prison
Soul in a body
No window or gate
I wish a moment
Breathing presence
I lived an age
Date by date
How can the Sun
Be my companion
I fall early
It sets late
A beautiful and meaningful poem. Very well-conceived and well-crafted. A lot said with an economy of words.
Our body is a prison in which the soul is caged.... When the body becomes still, the soul will fly to its freedom! 'I lived an age/ date by date'........ these lines demonstrate the ennui of worldly existence....! A great write!
This is excellent poetry, and a deep insight into human nature.....the inability to part with things and circumstances hated...too true of the human condition. A 10.
This is why I read poetry- -so I can see through another human being's eyes and feel and experience beyond what I personally experience. This is so extraordinarily well-written and moving. 10+++++++++++++++++++
What a strong statement, i like the poetic expression you included inside the poem! ...Open your hand, you cant see what your hands can do but they can do more than moving fingers....thats what in you, you cant see what else you can bring...God write a destiny for us, but He let us decide to change it as it is or to break it and show it better...If sun not around is not mean its not there, it just another side...stars are still around to show you there is bright luck in the darkness...no matter how dark the life could be...Rise!
