Vanity Is Vanity
They say that vanity is one
Of the deadly sins
but you don't care
You say they gossip too much
And there's no greater sin than gluttony
I guess you are trying to insult me
However, I think the try is hilarious
I don't need the latest sneakers
And my vice--just records and books
Nowadays there's nothing for me
Not even a stitch I can wear
Levi's doesn't make my size
Old Navy jeans fit and reasonable priced
They last me more than a wash
I live simply
And I am too ugly to be vain
LeeAnn, there is nothing ugly about your poetry! The only possible exception being that you're way too hard on yourself. Love your poem. It reminds me of a couple of Billy Joel's songs.
