Vedas 21 - Know The Eternal Thinker Through Non-Eternal Thoughts Poem by Geeta Radhakrishna Menon

Vedas 21 - Know The Eternal Thinker Through Non-Eternal Thoughts

Rating: 5.0

The golden, ancient India,
With its skies so vast and deep blue,
With its mountains lofty and magnanimous,
With its forests so dense, rich and bountiful,
With its rivers long, broad and flowing,
With instinct and intuition, dreamt of the Infinite!

The Indian thought was transcendental in character,
To go beyond the limitations of empirical knowledge,
To yearn for the inaccessible and unseen,
To penetrate a mere shell,
To search the innermost kernel,
To seek the Absolute Truth!

Thus, began the journey towards Eternity,
With a courageous spirit of the speculative daring,
To climb the ladder of loftiest thoughts,
To unravel the secrets of mystical philosophy,
To explore the depth and genius of a human mind,
To Know the Eternal Thinker through Non-Eternal Thoughts.

geeta, this brings to my mind immediately the opening declaration of psalm 19—the heavens are telling the glory of God. we understand by what is created something about the creator—beauty, power, humor perhaps... continue to walk in beauty. -glen

I don't have words to interpret this great poem of rich philosophical and spiritual depth! Each line depicts the beauty of my country and incessant quest of eternal thinkers to explore knowledge, wisdom and the absolute truth! Though I am not a student of philosophy but I always learn a great deal of philosophical and spiritual contents from your beautiful poems! A sublime piece of work is shared.....10
