What sets a house apart
Is not lovely furnishings
And classic works of art
And all such pretty things
What makes a house a home
Is the person(s) dwelling there
And hospitality shown
And the love for all to share
If an atmosphere is welcoming,
You'll want to come back
For such a home, a feeling brings
Of warmth, and not lack
A mansion there once was
With cold and shadowy rooms
I left there quickly, because
The place felt like a tomb.
'Home, Sweet Home' is heaven for beginners. An insightful depiction of the essence and intricacies of a home, elegantly brought forth in beautiful rhyme scheme with conviction. Thanks for sharing Poetess.
So beautifully said, A house is not a home If Love's not living there. A charming poem filled with sweetness, finesse and good décor. Maxi-vote.
Sandra, once again - - Either I have a knack for writing what you appreciate, or else you have a knack mfor appreciating what I write! Or who knows, maybe both! Thanks for your encouragement!
