Who Are You Poem by Bharati Nayak

Who Are You

Rating: 5.0

Who are you?
Are you my inner voice
Constantly prodding
Me to smile and
look to the sunshine
And feel the energy of love?

Are you the light
Or a space within
Which I can not define
How am I bound to you
I do not know
But you pervade
Fillall gaps
Making the bond stronger
With every passing day.

You are the sky
When I look for hope
And in the time of despair
You are the earth
To hold my feet.

You mingle in the
Soft sweet breeze
That caresses me to sleep.

You have a form
Yet formless when
You come to me
Breaking all barriers
Occupying all spaces
From atoms to molecules
You assert your invincibility.

You are neither your body
Nor your voice
You are neither smell nor touch
You are something all above.

You are my spirit
You are my soul
You are my feeling
You are my song.

You are my image
You are my echo
How powerless am I
To describe you! ! !

Is this about the soul? Whatever it is it is wonderfully written in great meter and flow. Enjoyed this nice poem, keep writing. Kudos.

A brilliant poem, Who Are You, You are the sky When I look for hope And in the time of despair You are the earth To hold my feet. And towards the end you talk about you, the soul, in the fashion of Kena Upanishad, Excellent.

Hi, Bharati! What you say here makes me think of how God’s spirit speaks to our spirits which reside, as we often describe them, in our hearts, in the center of us. Spirit speaks to spirit. Jesus promised that he and God would make their home in those who obeyed the command to love. -Glen

Even the lifetime is not sufficient to define, who are you. Your meaningful poem has made a courageous attempt to delve into this philosophy...thank you for sharing this lovely poem...

God is the inner voice of any and every soul without that inner voice nothing would exist neither i nor you but why to all my poems you have said adieu wish my inner voice knew..the beauty of GOD'S EXISTENCE is immense for each one me and you without a GOD what would humans do none has the power to so claim why an unknown unseen yet living god in human mind make one go insane who is to blame God s EXISTENCE is a MUST
