Wind Song Poem by Patricia Grantham

Wind Song

Rating: 5.0

As the waves violently crashed against the white seashore
An invisible but quite ferocious wind still blows forever more
Its mighty power rises up and stretches like a rushing wonder
She held back her reckless visage then only seemed to ponder

Mariners, boaters and fishermen alike all brave that stormy sea
From the north, south, east and west or wither the gusty winds be
Relentless winds that never cease is out of the seafarers control
Caught in its fearsome currents may God have mercy on their soul

Seagulls soaring high up above searching the deep sea for fish
Winds whistling their woeful tunes as if they're making a wish
Its forces begins to diminish then the water becomes calm again
Wistful songs will always be heard but no one will ever know when

'Wistful songs will forever be heard but none will ever know when'..... So true! Sea winds are ever a threat to seafarers especially to the fishermen.... No one has control over them but God! At times a hurricane in the height of its fury may suddenly calm itself down.... may be the effect of prayerful eyes directed to the Heavens! A great write... Pat!

A song that dances with the force of the wind and the sea, capturing it's wildness, strength and the bravery of the people who sail in all it's magnificent, deadly splendour! ! Stunning write! !

A lovely poem detailing the wildness of nature, here in the form of wild wind. As if I was observing the wildness by the sea side with your nice flow of words.... that too ending with a hope of calmness... very nice

Man and sea...unseparable! The spirit of adventure...the wildness, uncertainty, rewards, are too great to ignore. Beautiful write Caught in its fearsome currents may God have mercy on their soul...in the terrible storm they will remember God in their heart, when delivered to safety, they will forget! ...often... a great 10.

I could hear the song of your poem that beautifully narrates the fearsome fury of the raging winds, as also I could hear the prayers of the seafarers and their families for their well being. 'Its mighty power rises up and stretches like a rushing wonder She held back her reckless visage then only seemed to ponder - very well expressed! 'Relentless winds that never cease is out of the seafarers control Caught in its fearsome currents may God have mercy on their soul' - A vivid picture. 'Its forces begins to diminish then the water becomes calm again Wistful songs will forever be heard but none will ever know when' - A glimmer of hope for peace and calmness. A magnificent poem.10/10.
