I look at the sky
That has lost its blueness
A piece of grey apparition instead
Someone has covered the earth with
My hands tremble
As I try to pick up the flowers
The petals are heavy
Like eyelids under the weight of sleep
With fine dusts rising from
Mining activities
They say you will lose
The moon and the stars in
A few years
How can I write about
The beauty of my lover
How can I take shelter at the
Riverside under the canopy of
An illuminated sky of the summer night
My poems will be about misery
Humans suffer in their own hands
And not about peace and love and
Compassion we have been seeking
I concur with Poetic sky. On this very day we need to think hard to rectify our mistakes.5*****
The future we leave for our children has a negative undertone. Very sad.
As Unnikrishnan says, it's a very pressing issue that is ignored, they don't seem to realise their own children will suffer.
A most pressing issue powerfully expressed. Congratulations
May I invite dear poets to read my poem "Only One Earth" on the occasion of World Environment Day?
The concern for the environment most forcefully expressed. Good
