You’re Not At The End Of The Road (Le Jardin Bourrée) Poem by Ahmad Shiddiqi

You’re Not At The End Of The Road (Le Jardin Bourrée)

Rating: 5.0

(dedicated to Ms. Gaëlle Méchaly, a gifted soprano)

A story, though
Is far from fully told
A drama has by no means
Played itself out

You’re not sure
How you can afford it
Although you know
What you want

You may have reached an impasse
But you’re not at the end of the road
Much more will work out in a way
You’re at the start of a new adventure

(inspired by Ravel’s Menuet antique)

In the cross roads of life, there may come many barriers or dead ends, which need to be broken in order to live a full successful life. I understand what you say here.

End of the road for us is when we're laid down........six foot underground.
