Albert Einstein 35 - fame & Forlorn Poem by Geeta Radhakrishna Menon

Albert Einstein 35 - fame & Forlorn

Rating: 5.0

As Dr. Einstein's love for science increased,
His name, work, became a subject of discussion,
Especially, in higher learning and social circles.
At the age of thirty two, Prof. Einstein had already
Won appreciation and accolades from audiences,
To become a famed scientist of Europe!

While in Prague, Dr. Einstein received invitations
From various institutions with offers of a new job.
Of them, what attracted him most was an invitation
From his own Alma Mater - ETH in Zurich.
Mileva who was quite unhappy with her stay
In Prague, urged her husband to get back to Zurich.

Till the marriage and birth of their first son - Hans,
All looked well and sound between Mileva & Albert.
But slowly, things began to change and sour.
Perhaps, what attracted them to each other
In the initial years, was the subject of Physics.
Why did Mileva give up on her passion for physics?

Mileva was afraid that her husband would be
Enamoured and carried away by fame.
His association with women of all ages
Disturbed her, made her angry, and jealous.
Very often, she would take off to her parent's house
With her two boys, feeling forlorn and depressed.

The love story of Albert and Mileva,
That bloomed like beautiful flowers in Switzerland,
Began to fade and wither away in gloom!
Gone were the days when they endearingly
Addressed each other as ‘Dolly' and ‘Johnnie'!
How come ‘love' is so short and slippery? I wonder!

Ma'am this is sad. Indeed how johinne and dolly lost its glory. Ma'am love has to be maintained above doubts and fears. But this becomes dicy because maybe the other person drifted away...so, love is always complex. Those who really live it are blessed.
