I spend my Saturdays
Listening to poets
And I realised I want to go
To Arizona to read my own
But this is just a fantasy
It has been my dream for a while
Though, I'm middle-aged
I should stop dreaming
However, things are happening now
I am such a late bloomer
I feel I am always late
Needing to practice, I continue
But there's nothing for me to lose
So, don't stop me now
I will catch up if time would
Let it
Very sincere and natural poem. Reaches far. Sensations come naturally and we participate in your sentiments with a sense of peace and clarity, rarely found except when greatness prevails. Well done!
It's never too late to dream, LeeAnn, but I don't understand the reference to Arizona. Do they have big poetry readings there, or something? Anyway, I really enjoyed the poem.
LeeAnn, don't wait until you're old like me. Now, I'm playing catch-up. And it's pretty hard. But I'm going for it! ! !
I like the window this poem creates that allows the reader to get to know you better and relate to you more. I think we all need to "catch up"
So, LeeAnn have you made Voca your Voca? Arizona, here you come!
Your poems are wonderful and I am sure you can read them before the public beautifully. A very inspiring and well expressed write.
There are no late bloomers in dreams, LeeAnn. Always follow your heart and in God's own time you will achieve it.
