Birth of a Poem
Oh Poetry!
From where have you come?
From a small impulse
To a strong emotion
You stay
In the hollow of a heart
Or in the deep
Oceanic depth of mind
Somewhere taking shape
Like a baby
Growing little by little
When full grown
Like the baby can not
Stay in the mother's womb
Kicks for the outlet
Presses forward
To come to light
You take birth from
A fluid existence
To a solid reality
A full form baby
Still with immense possibility
To grow and expand.
With mother's love
And family's care
You become
A wondrous existence
Of this Universe.
Definition of poetry has been undergoing a number of changes without losing the subtle character. This poem is a rightful example.Let a thousand wonderous poems be born of you dear poetess...10
From a small impulse To a strong emotion You stay In the hollow of aheart Or in the deep Oceanic depth of mind......birth place of a poetry is so incisively delineated here. I appreciate this poem for which I have to visit once again.
The journey of a poem from conception to delivery has been well charted out in the poem. Between some words, space has disappeared, perhaps inadvertently, as also pointed out by poet Bri Edwards.
You take birth from A fluid existence To a solid reality A full form baby The gestation period, the final thrust into the outer world and its gradual growth......! Oh How beautifully you have described the birth, growth and maturing of a poem! Well done dear friend!
Some creatures birth their babies different than others. Keep being prolific!

it seems PH has played havoc with the spacing (or i should say 'lack of spacing') between some of the words. but the fine poem has survived admirably and i send to MyPoemList. some favorite parts: " Oceanic depth of mind" & " A full form baby Still with immense possibility" :) bri p.s. I see " " can be part of a " wondrousexistence" ! ! Bri WOULD notice, of course.
