Black 3 - Black Is Steady And Strong Poem by Geeta Radhakrishna Menon

Black 3 - Black Is Steady And Strong

Rating: 4.6

I do not know
Why people believe,
Black is dark,
Black is negative,
Black is frightening,
Black is sorrowful.

I find Black,
Steady, strong and
Challenging, for
Black retains,
Black absorbs,
Black tolerates.

Black sacrifices and bestows
All colours to this fascinating world!

Succinct and smooth expression of black's power.

The concept lies with the beauty/character/deeds not with color! I will cite one example of a noble man called Nelson Mandala…… he is honored for his noble deeds! Lord Krishna himself is black….The concept matters a lot! I prodigiously admire your introspection! An excellent work….10

We all live in the dark. Their is no light in the brain. Just an organism from evolution. A chemical-electrical mine field discharging pulsating synaptic snaps.

Innovative conceptualization and that too with proper justification.

When we talk of colour, we think in terms of VIBGYOR. But we forget the impetus provided to this 3D world by the black colour. Our journey from Black to White is dotted with various stations. Each one serving as junction of colours. That apart, you have nicely placed the black, as it should be, in the right perspective. Yes, black is a symbol of some kind of a shock absorber, sacrifice and strength. This is like a new discovery. Thanks, Geeta ji.

interesting to me that you write on this, geeta. so many associate black with evil and sin, but biblically speaking red is the one associated with sin. and in much of the world the closer to white the skin is (particularly in women) the more beautiful it is considered. when my granddaughter asks my favorite color, i cannot choose. what would the world be without variety which, i think, represents to the infinitude and variety of God. -glen
