Bri Is Back (To Poem-Hunter) ....[ As Of August 9th In California; No "Brass Bands Played"; Short ] ]

Rating: 4.8

Bri Edwards [ that's me ] has returned; now I am back.
For five months, this site, my BORING life, did lack.
No, I was not jailed, sick, or lost; ... nor was I ill,
but, believe it or not, my lack was NOT a "bitter pill*".

I see that in my absence I was not totally forgotten;
if I had been, then I might feel inside somewhat rotten.
I've lacked this poem site and emailing too! It is true.
For messages and comments I got, I thank YOU [NOT you! ].

* bitter pill: a distressing experience

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
P-H FRIENDS,

As of August 9th, I've finally come backto P-H after circumstances beyond my control [ library closed & wife not having me be on P-H or Yahoo at home for reasons which are not important here ] caused me to not have read my Inbox messages since early March! !

I was NOT ill, nor in jail, nor injured, NOR tired of P-H. I did miss many (?)of you, and to some I had Brian Johnston send a note from me via P-H messaging, telling you of my 'situation'. If you didn't get a note from friend and fellow P-H poet B. Johnston, DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT! Ha ha.

I played a brass band for you in my mind! I'm fairly new here, but you are so famous, even I heard about you!

Welcome back, the missing popular poet! There were speculations that you might be hiding somewhere being afraid of Corona Virus, which in gentler words is described as self quarantine. That you are a very popular poet of this site is evident from the queries raised by different poets, including me, about your wellness and whereabouts. Just now I have submitted a limerick, giving my apprehensions about where you might have been during the last five months.

Welcome back, dear friend. Without you, Poemhunter is like a vessel without a rudder and a sail. Write, don't be lost.

Thus Bri is back.... a devoted follower of poem hunter and a friend to many! His mischief is mostly taken for granted, sometimes falling down we roll and laugh, sometimes frown, sometimes feel sheepish. But overall his harmless wit, innocence and unconventional approach appeal to most of us. Bri, be here to cheer us all! Welcome back!
