I have not yet understood,
Is man's behaviour kind or rude.
Is man a humanitarian and vegetarian,
And the earth's superior authoritarian?
Then how he fulfills his appetite,
And considers himself right.
With eyes, nose, skin, flesh and blood,
Both together reside the world.
In joy, sorrow, pain and fear,
And the loss of belongings near and dear.
Both inhale and exhale the same air,
Avoiding perils, they both care.
As I read through the history,
I find it a great mystery.
Has ever man used his light?
My soul and heart, to the question fight.
Wonderful poem. Man and his soul living side by side in human body dealing with duality of nature and abiding by Nature's authority creates many question but no perfect answers. Enjoyed your poem very much.
Yes, man is a mystery and will never be understood in this life, he is a human being with the nature of God within him. A very complex yet simple being having no answers for anyone, least of all himself. Very thought provoking message. Thank you for sharing. RoseAnn
A wonderful poem, Abdulrazak. Somewhere human nature is as mysterious as the deep sea.
Life has two faces! ! ! Those ready for the laws of righteourighteousness and, others who are always wicked in all things. Thanks for sharing this poem with us.
Has ever man used his light? - that is crucial question of Life a person will be asked at Doom's day!
Two things; wealth and power, usually abused and misused. Thanks-10
Intriguing poem. Has man ever used his light? One could also ask: Where does his light come from?
This is an interesting poem with a perplexing theme/question... What is man? I was confused at first when you switched in your questioning saying, ' is man...' To then answering that 'both are...' Both man and? Are you referring to man, the human and man's soul? The last lines of the poem add an interesting layer to your piece, 'has man ever used his light? / my heart and soul to the question fight'. So, we see here both a personal and societal struggle to understand man's role in the world and also to be able to place value or judgement upon that role. There's no specific mention of the soul until the end... Which brings forth the spiritual. A very thought provoking poem. This topic would make a nice sonnet too. Well done!
