If You Came My Way... Poem by Nosheen Irfan

If You Came My Way...

Rating: 5.0

On a warm June day
If you came my way
A breeze it would be
Humming sweetly to me

On a warm June day
If you came my way
A shade it would be
The shade of a thousand trees

On a warm June day
If you came my way
I'd be home at last
After miles and miles of road.

A breeze, the shade and home. I can't imagine anything better.

I too like the image of a sweetly humming breeze in summer. The poem unwinds both the speaker and the reader. Thanks for sharing Nosheen. :)

This poem is a great illustration to show that there is much beauty in simplicity! It has given me the feel of a breeze coming and caressing my face and tousling my hair! A poem so glamorous without being ostentatious!

Something familiar that brings one home...the desire of so many. A terrific poem, Nosheen.
