Limerick.19.When Sorrows Come

Rating: 5.0

Uncle Fred, walking at night along a street
Stepped and tripped over a dead rat
Chased by a mad poodle
He fell into a puddle
At dawn Fred was still wading in deep dirt!

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
'When sorrows come, they come not in single spies but in batallions'!
-Shakespeare

In the life of Uncle Fred sorrows came in the form of a rat, a dog and a puddle! Falling down is OK, but unable to rise up and still wading in slushy mud is unfortunate!
