Nature 10 - The Animals Protect Their Young Ones Poem by Geeta Radhakrishna Menon

Nature 10 - The Animals Protect Their Young Ones

Rating: 4.8

An animal
Breathes like a man,
Eats like a man,
No! They do not think or talk,
But they protect their young ones!

Plant eating mammals are
Fully developed at birth
They only need their mothers
To care for them and
To nurture them with love!

Deer is a pretty animal,
Beautiful and gentle,
She walks like a model,
Skips and hops like a pretty damsel,
And runs faster than any of her forest companions!

A Deer has amazing survival traits too!
She can sense the presence of an enemy,
She has the ability to hide behind the bushes,
She has the capacity to run far away
From a dangerous beast or a hunter.

It's wonderful to watch a fawn nuzzled by its mother.
Fawns are weaned four months after birth, but
The mother stays with her baby for over two years,
Watching her, caring for her, fondling her baby
And protecting her with warmth of her motherly love.

The mother stays with her baby for over two years, Watching her, caring for her, fondling her baby And protecting her with warmth of her motherly love.... the love and care of a mother is so beautifully revealed here. What a splendid presentation!

Deer is a pretty animal, Beautiful and gentle, She walks like a model.... //.... This is a brilliant portrayal. Though much of the animal behaviour is believed to be instinctive yet the love of a mother for its offspring can be matched with that of the human beings in terms of caring, cuddling and weaning. Each new poem brings out a new facet of love for nature. Thanks, Geeta ji.

A wonderful poem, Dr. Geeta! I only disagree with one thing. You say in line three that animals do not think or talk. I say that they do both. They do not talk the same way that we do, but they do talk to each other, using their own language. Thank you for sharing this, and congrats on poem of the day!

A wonderful poem on how animals protect their young ones out of motherly love. The poem comes from close observation of the animals' lives. Heartiest congratulations on your poem being selected as the 'Member Poem of the Day'!

The softness of mother's love is deeply felt across all species of animals. A beautiful and heartwarming poem. Remain blessed, Madam.

Natural instincts. Mother's love is universal.
