Though winged
I am caged
I flutter my wings
As if to fly

My, my! This poem makes me so sad for caged parrots! You have masterfully encapsulated the captivity of a parrot! This poem has the essentials of a great story! A crisis, a deep-hearted longing, and a point of action! Brilliant!
Great poem! ! ! Great imagery and story as well! Skillfully penned! Thank you for sharing : )
Beautiful mam, i think. this parrot is me, and society is cage. And those awful memories.... when all my poem were asking equality.
A very just poem about parrot, nicely presented Madam Bharati. If you like please visit my poem A bird when caged.
A philosophical poem with contradictions of thought, dreams and events. The dream of freedom ends in disaster for the continuously prisoned souls. Excellent.
No food can satisfy when freedom is curtailed.Thak u for your poem with nice insight.

Beautiful poem. Anyone caged or enslaved may for the time-being think it safe and secure in their being in captivity but as you have rightly pointed out- I dream Of the open sky.... Where I do belong. Thanks a lot.
The milked rice And the good nuts That I am served Do not satisfy As I dream Of the open sky Where I do belong.......so touching. Really milked rice or good food can't bring satisfaction and happiness to a caged bird as it always needs freedom and to fly in open sky. Who does'nt want to be free? I don't like to put a bird in prision. You are a kind hearted lady that you can feel the pain of other. I appreciate this poem and the way of presentation you made.Enjoyed time and again.
Keep the cage open I may get a chance to fly But my wings that have forgotten the art of flying How ironic! This beautiful poem carries many examples of such deep-seated ironies. Enjoyed reading it. Wonderful composition ma'am!
Beautifully done. Thanks for sharing such a lovely and humours piece.
A novel and original idea to let a parrot speak at length, but they do talk, after a fashion. Parrots may well want to leave their cages and fly freely. I think that is a deep instinct in most animals and birds. But they are safer in a cage, as your poem indicates so well.
A thought provoking poem on freedom and bird is nicely and aptly executed. I don't want the birds to be in cage. Beautiful poem bearing beautiful message. Thank you again dear madam.
I enjoyed this and can relate to it well. I raised parrots and birds in San Diego, California. This is a real look of what is there and most do not even think about. Good job!
Each stanza is beautiful...pangs of abdication with joy of freedom...juxtaposed..thanks dear poetess..
A captivating poem of liberty gained too late!
