Oh Lord! Listen to our hearts
Battered and bruised in life's race
Years passing by, in the blink of an eye
Our hands are now full, now empty
Give us another chance, regrets be past
Let us gather the lilies mistakenly dropped
Oh Lord! Make the rising sun a gentle one
For every soul that has stood the test of time
From moments to years, the tide has turned
The gone is gone, the lost is lost for sure
Tick, tick! No stopping the hands of clock
Let us cruise along, with the flow of song
Fast is the wheel that rolls along
The track is spread, to eyes sharp
Let us go on, weary feet notwithstanding
Time beckons and the engine whistles
Aboard a new ship, shining and bright
A new year ahead, sorrows behind.

A beautiful prayer, a beautiful poem.................................
Very timely Nosheen I feel this way at this time of the year tfs
This is a prayer and a poem. Yes, life is full of mistakes and regrets sometimes forgiven sometimes not, but we have to learn from our mistakes and make amends.
I personally feel that the prayers we write ourselves are the most valuable ones. They come straight from our heart. This is a beautiful one!
Oh, Lord! Make the rising sun a gentle one For every soul that has stood the test of time From moments to years, the tide has turned The gone is gone, the lost is lost for sure Tick, tick! No stopping the hands of clock... nice theme. Beautiful poem on prayer.
NEW YEAR AHEAD, SORROWS BEHIND - What a fine sentiment to end with not just hope but accessible hope. We pray because we must, but also because we can. We must pray because we are limited creatures and need divine help - that need is part of our human nature; and the fact we can pray makes it an expression of our nature, an assertion of our identity, an accord with the Universe. You poem made me think these thoughts, and I'm happy they are in my mind. There are so many terrible things that snake their way into the temple of our minds, we need these prayerful thoughts to protect it. The flow of your song, the lilies you gather, the directions you give - these are the benefits of your poetic prayers, we are grateful as well as the Beings of Light above us.
